Queer Brunch & Learn

Queer Brunch & Learn is a recurring, low-pressure educational series created for graduate students, state interns, and licensed mental health professionals who want thoughtful, queer-affirming conversations about clinical practice, identity, and relationships.

This space is designed to support:

  • Clinicians new to working with queer clients or couples

  • Experienced therapists seeking to strengthen their attachment-informed lens

  • Anyone wanting community-based learning without the pressure of formal training or CEUs

Each Brunch & Learn centers one topic and blends foundational theory, clinical insight, and shared discussion. These sessions are educational (not therapy and not CEU trainings) and welcome participants to attend with cameras on or off.

When Good Intentions Aren’t Enough: Subtle Clinical Missteps that Create Rupture

Queer Brunch & Learn

📅 March 27

⏰ 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

📍 Zoom

Join us for a Queer Brunch & Learn conversation for clinicians exploring how subtle, well-intentioned behaviors in therapy can unintentionally create rupture with LGBTQIA+ clients.

In this interactive discussion, we’ll explore common clinical missteps that can occur even in affirming spaces and how therapists can develop the skills needed to recognize and repair these moments. Participants will engage in case reflection, discussion, and practical strategies drawn from Christopher Brace’s CEU training Foundations of LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care.

Come connect with other clinicians, share perspectives, and deepen your approach to affirming clinical practice.
